Authentic Sarawakian Food – Rajah Brooke Cafe
.260409. Rajah Brooke Cafe @ Kuchai Entreprenuer’s Park
I have never really tried much food from our neighbouring state on the East, Sabah and Sarawak. However, I do know that Sabah Chilli is one of the best and I like it very much and Sarawak’s famous Ko Lo Mee has been around for quite some time now. I never knew of any authentic Sarawak restaurant’s around though or perhaps, it was just me that didn’t take much notice on it all this while.

*An authentic Sarawakian dining experience*

*comfortable, cozy and wifi available cafe!!*
Last week, I was invited to an authentic Sarawakian cafe in Kuchai’s Entrepreneur’s Park and the owner, Kenneth, with his lovely wife gave us a really warm hospitality. I was inspired when Kenneth explained a little about how he came up with the intention of starting up a Sarawakian Cuisine Cafe. His wife was from Sarawak of course but it was really the lifestyle in Sarawak that he loved so much and the authentic food that he experiences made him wanted to share it with the city folks like me and those around me.
I was there with Sidney, Sunny, Ken and also Rebecca. We started off, trying the authentic Sarawak “3 layer tea” which is quite similiar to milk tea/teh panas and I had a Blueberry Tea which is recipe of their own. Later on, we tried the pineapple blended and Sidney ordered Ginseng blended. I thought the Blueberry Tea was nice though =D

*i kinda love the mixing though.. blueberry and sprite and… its refreshing!*

*if you’re a milk tea lover, I thought you should try this!*

*this one will definitely keep you awake! LOL the sourness!! wooot~ I love it.. haha*

*i didn’t get to try this one though..LOL*

Have tried the food in the shop and totally disappointed with the food provided. High expectation on the mee kolo….but found out the noodle is not the type that used in authetic mee kolo in Sarawak…not even close to 1% similarity. The price is just ridiculous…..i would expect a quality Sarawak food from this shop with that kind of pricing….but no. Total dissappointment. Those stall that offer mee kolo like in Puchong, Taman Megah, Pandan Indah, Wangsa Maju the taste way ahead of what this shop can provide.

For really good sarawak laksa, the best I’ve found so far is the one in Bangsar, in a small coffee shop by a lady who comes from Padungan in Kuching.

Is there any Kuching’s Kolo Mee available at this Cafe ?
[Reply]
I tried the Kolo Mee today. It seem different from the 1st time I tried. The 1st time I was dissapointed. This time the Kolo Mee taste authentic. I ask the manager and found that they have start to import the mee from Kuching. Lucky, they have improve their quality. They have kacangma and red wine yeast ” ang chau” chicken too.
